It has shown to be a better alternative to other medicinal systems like allopathy. If you want to learn as an hobby then there are various articles and books that you can select as a start and then start learning about the researches and publications of various doctors and researchers.

Best way to learn Ayurveda is by taking up the BAMS course especially if you are an Indian, since BAMS is the only legal way to practice Ayurveda in India. And if not then knowing Sanskrit language will be helpful.
